Mandaheyy! was supposed to bring me a new string today and forgot, so basically I brought my guitar for nothing. Maybe I’ll just have to ask Jake or somebody for one. I broke the alto E string on Saturday or something. I’d love to say it was from having an intense jam session, but by the same token, if I said that, it’d be a lie. I was tuning my guitar. That makes twice that I’ve broken a string that way. Mmf. Can’t help it if I haven’t changed the strings, ever, in the 2 and ½ years that I’ve had it. Well, they were new when I got the guitar, thought I was safe for a year or so more. Ironically, a couple weeks before I moved, mom offered to buy me new strings. Huh.
Anyway, figured out how to play “Hello” by Lionel Richie by fingerpicking. I’ve found a way to work around the missing string; at least it wasn’t the A that I broke. That’d be confusing and difficult. At least it sounds good.
But that makes like, what? Four songs I’ve actually taught myself? At least that’s up by two. I’ve taught myself more in two weeks than I learned in two years. Dang, I feel accomplished.
